10 and indeed you do love all the brothers and sisters[a] throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, beloved,[b] to do so more and more, 11 to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we directed you, 12 so that you may behave properly towards outsiders and be dependent on no one.

10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia.(A) Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,(B) 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands,(C) just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders(D) and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
