1 Timothy 3:4-6

4 One who rules his own house well, having obedient children under him with all respect.
5 For if anyone cannot rule his own house, how shall he care for the Church of God?
6 He may not be a young scholar, lest he (being puffed up) falls into the condemnation of the devil.

4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect.(A) 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)(B) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited(C) and fall under the same judgment(D) as the devil.
