¹⁴And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

¹⁴And if Christ has not been raised,^(A) our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

¹⁷And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

¹⁷And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.^(A)

¹⁹If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

¹⁹If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.^(A)
