¹⁵And I will very gladly spend and be spent ^(A)for your souls; though ^(B)the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

¹⁵So I will very gladly spend for you everything I have and expend myself as well.^(A) If I love you more,^(B) will you love me less?

¹⁶^(A)By this we know love, ^(B)because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

¹⁶This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.^(A) And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.^(B)
