25 Jeroboam II recovered the territories of Israel between Lebo-hamath and the Dead Sea,[a] just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had promised through Jonah son of Amittai, the prophet from Gath-hepher.
26 For the Lord saw the bitter suffering of everyone in Israel, and that there was no one in Israel, slave or free, to help them. 27 And because the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel completely, he used Jeroboam II, the son of Jehoash, to save them.

25 He was the one who restored the boundaries of Israel from Lebo Hamath(A) to the Dead Sea,[a](B) in accordance with the word of the Lord, the God of Israel, spoken through his servant Jonah(C) son of Amittai, the prophet from Gath Hepher.
26 The Lord had seen how bitterly everyone in Israel, whether slave or free,(D) was suffering;[b](E) there was no one to help them.(F) 27 And since the Lord had not said he would blot out(G) the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved(H) them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.
