At that time Rezin king of Aram recovered (A)Elath for Aram, and cleared the Judeans out of [a]Elath entirely; and the [b]Arameans came to Elath and have lived there to this day.

Ahaz Seeks Help of Aram

(B)So Ahaz sent messengers to (C)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son; come up and deliver me from the [c]hand of the king of Aram and from the [d]hand of the king of Israel, who are rising up against me.” (D)Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent a present to the king of Assyria.

Ahaz sent messengers to say to Tiglath-Pileser(C) king of Assyria, “I am your servant and vassal. Come up and save(D) me out of the hand of the king of Aram and of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.” And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift(E) to the king of Assyria.
