Jehoiakim Made King by Pharaoh

³⁴ Then Pharaoh Neco made ^(A)Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of his father Josiah, and he ^(B)changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz and ^[a](C)brought him to Egypt, and he died there. ³⁵ So Jehoiakim ^(D)gave the silver and gold to Pharaoh, but he assessed the land in order to give the money at the ^[b]command of Pharaoh. He collected the silver and gold from the people of the land, each according to his assessment, to give to Pharaoh Neco.

^36 (E)Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.

Babylon Controls Jehoiakim

24 ^(A)In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and revolted against him.

^5 (A)Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem; and he did evil in the sight of the Lord his God. ⁶ Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up ^(B)against him and ^(C)bound him with bronze chains to take him to Babylon. ^7 (D)Nebuchadnezzar also brought some of the articles of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and he put them in his temple in Babylon.

³ It came also in the days of ^(A)Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of ^(B)Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the exile of Jerusalem in the fifth month.

²⁰ which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he ^(A)led into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem—

1 In the third year of the reign of ^(A)Jehoiakim king of Judah, ^(B)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
