25 When he met the king at Jerusalem, the king said, “Mephibosheth, why didn’t you go with me when I ran away from Jerusalem?”

26 Mephibosheth answered, “My lord and king, my servant tricked me. I am crippled so I said to my servant, Ziba, ‘Go saddle a donkey for me so that I can go with the king.’ 27 But my servant tricked me and said bad things about me. My lord and king, you are like an angel from God. Do whatever you think is right.

26 He said, “My lord the king, since I your servant am lame,(B) I said, ‘I will have my donkey saddled and will ride on it, so I can go with the king.’ But Ziba(C) my servant betrayed me. 27 And he has slandered your servant to my lord the king. My lord the king is like an angel(D) of God; so do whatever you wish.
