2 Samuel 24:16-17
New English Translation
16 When the angel[a] extended his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord relented from his judgment.[b] He told the angel who was killing the people, “That’s enough! Stop now!”[c] (Now the angel of the Lord was near the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.)
17 When he saw the angel who was destroying the people, David said to the Lord, “Look, it is I who have sinned and done this evil thing! As for these sheep—what have they done? Attack me and my family.”[d]

New International Version
16 When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord relented(A) concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was afflicting the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord(B) was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 When David saw the angel who was striking down the people, he said to the Lord, “I have sinned; I, the shepherd,[a] have done wrong. These are but sheep.(C) What have they done?(D) Let your hand fall on me and my family.”(E)
