Acts 10:11-16

¹¹And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

¹²Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

¹³And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

¹⁴But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

¹⁵And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

¹⁶This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Acts 10:11-16

New International Version

¹¹He saw heaven opened^(A) and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. ¹²It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. ¹³Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

¹⁴“Surely not, Lord!”^(B) Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”^(C)

¹⁵The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”^(D)

¹⁶This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
