³⁰Paul wanted to appear before the crowd, but the disciples^(A) would not let him.

³⁰And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

³⁰And when Paul wanted to go in to the people, the disciples would not allow him.

³¹Even some of the officials of the province, friends of Paul, sent him a message begging him not to venture into the theater.

³¹And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

³¹Then some of the ^[a]officials of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him pleading that he would not venture into the theater.
