Acts 11:12-17

¹²^(A)And the Spirit told me to go with them ^(B)without ^[a]misgivings. ^(C)These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. ¹³And he reported to us how he had seen the angel ^[b]standing in his house, and saying, ‘Send some men to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; ¹⁴and he will speak ^(D)words to you by which you will be saved, you and ^(E)all your household.’ ¹⁵And as I began to speak, ^(F)the Holy Spirit fell upon them just ^(G)as He did upon us at the beginning. ¹⁶And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘^(H)John baptized with water, but you will be baptized ^[c]with the Holy Spirit.’ ¹⁷Therefore, if ^(I)God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(J)who was I that I could ^[d]stand in God’s way?”

¹²The Spirit told^(A) me to have no hesitation about going with them.^(B) These six brothers^(C) also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. ¹³He told us how he had seen an angel^(D) appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. ¹⁴He will bring you a message^(E) through which you and all your household^(F) will be saved.’

¹⁵“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on^(G) them as he had come on us at the beginning.^(H) ¹⁶Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with^[a] water,^(I) but you will be baptized with^[b] the Holy Spirit.’^(J) ¹⁷So if God gave them the same gift^(K) he gave us^(L) who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
