12 (A)And the Spirit told me to go with them (B)without [a]misgivings. (C)These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. 13 And he reported to us how he had seen the angel [b]standing in his house, and saying, ‘Send some men to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; 14 and he will speak (D)words to you by which you will be saved, you and (E)all your household.’ 15 And as I began to speak, (F)the Holy Spirit fell upon them just (G)as He did upon us at the beginning. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, (H)John baptized with water, but you will be baptized [c]with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 Therefore, if (I)God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, (J)who was I that I could [d]stand in God’s way?”

12 The Spirit told(A) me to have no hesitation about going with them.(B) These six brothers(C) also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. 13 He told us how he had seen an angel(D) appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. 14 He will bring you a message(E) through which you and all your household(F) will be saved.’

15 “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on(G) them as he had come on us at the beginning.(H) 16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with[a] water,(I) but you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.’(J) 17 So if God gave them the same gift(K) he gave us(L) who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
