⁴⁰ But Paul chose Silas and set out, the brothers and sisters commending him to the grace of the Lord.

⁶ When they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some brothers and sisters before the city authorities, shouting, “These people who have been turning the world upside down have come here also,^(A)

⁷ and Jason has entertained them as guests. They are all acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is another king named Jesus.”^(A)

²⁵ These he gathered together, with the workers of the same trade, and said, “Men, you know that we get our wealth from this business.

²⁶ You also see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost the whole of Asia this Paul has persuaded and drawn away a considerable number of people by saying that gods made with hands are not gods.^(A)

⁶ But you have dishonored the poor person. Is it not the rich who oppress you? Is it not they who drag you into the courts?^(A)
