4 But those present said, “Are you insulting God’s high priest?” 5 And Paul said, “I was not aware, brothers, that he is high priest; for it is written: ‘(A)You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”
6 But Paul, perceiving that one group were (B)Sadducees and the other Pharisees, began crying out in (C)the [a]Council, “[b](D)Brothers, (E)I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am on trial for (F)the hope and resurrection of the dead!”

4 Those who were standing near Paul said, “How dare you insult God’s high priest!”
5 Paul replied, “Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.’[a]”(A)
6 Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees(B) and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “My brothers,(C) I am a Pharisee,(D) descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.”(E)
