²⁴ Several days later, Felix came with his wife Drusilla,^[a] who was a Jewess. He sent for Paul and listened to him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁵ But as Paul discussed justice, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became frightened and exclaimed, “Go away for the present. When I have an opportunity, I will send for you.” ²⁶ At the same time, he hoped that Paul would offer him a bribe. Therefore he used to send for him quite often and converse with him.
