Stephen Is Arrested

Now Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. Some men who were from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia) rose up and disputed with Stephen.

Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs(C) among the people. Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)—Jews of Cyrene(D) and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia(E) and Asia(F)—who began to argue with Stephen.
