² and requested letters^(A) from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way,^(B) he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

²⁶ and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples^(A) were first called Christians at Antioch.^(B)

⁴ But the people of the city were divided, some siding with the Jews and some with the apostles.^(A)

²³ During that time there was a major^[a] disturbance about the Way.^(A)

³⁰ Though Paul wanted to go in before the people, the disciples did not let him.
