17 And in all the vines shall be lamentation: for I will pass through thee, saith the Lord.
18 Woe unto you, that [a]desire the day of the Lord: what have you to do with it? the day of the Lord is darkness and not light,
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him: or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

New International Version
17 There will be wailing(A) in all the vineyards,
for I will pass through(B) your midst,”
says the Lord.(C)
The Day of the Lord
18 Woe to you who long
for the day of the Lord!(D)
Why do you long for the day of the Lord?(E)
That day will be darkness,(F) not light.(G)
19 It will be as though a man fled from a lion
only to meet a bear,(H)
as though he entered his house
and rested his hand on the wall
only to have a snake bite him.(I)
