Because of this, won’t the land quake(A)
and all who dwell in it mourn?(B)
All of it will rise like the Nile;(C)
it will surge and then subside
like the Nile in Egypt.(D)

And in that day—
this is the declaration of the Lord God
I will make the sun go down at noon;(E)
I will darken the land in the daytime.(F)
10 I will turn your feasts into mourning(G)
and all your songs into lamentation;(H)
I will cause everyone[a] to wear sackcloth(I)
and every head to be shaved.(J)
I will make that grief
like mourning for an only son(K)
and its outcome like a bitter day.
