Daniel 5:2-4
English Standard Version
2 (A)Belshazzar, when he tasted the wine, commanded that (B)the vessels of gold and of silver that Nebuchadnezzar his father[a] had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem be brought, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. 3 Then they brought in (C)the golden vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. 4 They drank wine and (D)praised the (E)gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.

New International Version
2 While Belshazzar was drinking(A) his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets(B) that Nebuchadnezzar his father[a] had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines(C) might drink from them.(D) 3 So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them. 4 As they drank the wine, they praised the gods(E) of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.(F)

23 but you have lifted up yourself against (A)the Lord of heaven. And (B)the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. (C)And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, (D)but the God in whose hand is your breath, and (E)whose are all your ways, (F)you have not honored.

23 Instead, you have set yourself up against(A) the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives(B) and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand.(C) But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life(D) and all your ways.(E)
