(A)Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation. But at last Daniel came before me (B)(his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; (C)in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying: “Belteshazzar, (D)chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.

When the magicians,(A) enchanters, astrologers[a] and diviners(B) came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.(C) Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar,(D) after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods(E) is in him.)

I said, “Belteshazzar, chief(F) of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods(G) is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.
