Then King Belshazzar was greatly (A)alarmed, his [a](B)face grew even more pale, and his nobles were perplexed.

10 The queen entered the banquet [b]hall because of the words of the king and his nobles; the queen began to speak and said, “(C)O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts alarm you or your [c]face be pale. 11 There is a (D)man in your kingdom in whom is [d]a (E)spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him. And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father—your father [e](F)the king—appointed him chief of the soothsayer priests, sorcerers, Chaldeans, and diviners.

10 The queen,[a] hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. “May the king live forever!”(B) she said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! 11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods(C) in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom(D) like that of the gods.(E) Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.(F)
