3 (A) when suddenly four powerful beasts came out of the sea. Each beast was different. 4 (B) The first was like a lion with the wings of an eagle. As I watched, its wings were pulled off. Then it was lifted to an upright position and made to stand on two feet, just like a human, and it was given a human mind.
5 The second beast looked like a bear standing on its hind legs.[a] It held three ribs in its teeth, and it was told, “Attack! Eat all the flesh you want.”

3 Four great beasts,(A) each different from the others, came up out of the sea.
4 “The first was like a lion,(B) and it had the wings of an eagle.(C) I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.
5 “And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’(D)
