7 And I saw him come unto the ram, and being moved against him, he [a]smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand against him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him, and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his power.
8 Therefore the goat waxed exceeding great, and when he was at the strongest, his great [b]horn was broken: and for it came up four that [c]appeared toward the four winds of the heaven.
9 And out of one of them came forth a [d]little horn, which waxed very great toward the [e]South, and toward the [f]East, and toward the [g]pleasant land.

New International Version
7 I saw it attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering its two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against it; the goat knocked it to the ground and trampled on it,(A) and none could rescue the ram from its power.(B) 8 The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off,(C) and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.(D)
9 Out of one of them came another horn, which started small(E) but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land.(F)
