10 all the cities of the (A)tableland and all Gilead and all Bashan, as far as (B)Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11 (For (C)only Og the king of Bashan was left of the remnant of (D)the Rephaim. Behold, his bed was a bed of iron. Is it not in (E)Rabbah of the Ammonites? Nine cubits[a] was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the (F)common cubit.[b])

12 “When we took possession of this land at that time, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory beginning (G)at Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead with (H)its cities. 13 (I)The rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, that is, (J)all the region of Argob, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (All that portion of Bashan is called the land of (K)Rephaim. 14 (L)Jair the Manassite took all the region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of (M)the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called the villages (N)after his own name, Havvoth-jair, as it is to this day.) 15 To Machir (O)I gave Gilead, 16 and to the Reubenites (P)and the Gadites I gave the territory from Gilead as far as the Valley of the Arnon, with the middle of the valley as a border, as far over as the river Jabbok, (Q)the border of the Ammonites;

Division of the Land

12 Of the land that we took over at that time, I gave the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory north of Aroer(D) by the Arnon Gorge, including half the hill country of Gilead, together with its towns. 13 The rest of Gilead and also all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh.(E) (The whole region of Argob in Bashan used to be known as a land of the Rephaites.(F) 14 Jair,(G) a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maakathites;(H) it was named(I) after him, so that to this day Bashan is called Havvoth Jair.[b]) 15 And I gave Gilead to Makir.(J) 16 But to the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the territory extending from Gilead down to the Arnon Gorge (the middle of the gorge being the border) and out to the Jabbok River,(K) which is the border of the Ammonites.
