The fact of the matter is, Yahweh your God has blessed you in all the work you have done;[a] he knows your travels[b] with respect to this great wilderness; forty years Yahweh your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.”’ And so we passed by our brothers, the descendants[c] of Esau, who live in Seir, past the road of the Arabah,[d] from Elath and Ezion Geber, and we turned and traveled along the route of the desert[e] of Moab.

And Yahweh said to me, ‘You shall not attack Moab, and you shall not engage in war[f] with them, for I will not give you any of his land as a possession; I have given Ar to the descendants[g] of Lot as a possession.’

So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from(E) the Arabah(F) road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber,(G) and traveled along the desert road of Moab.(H)

Then the Lord said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar(I) to the descendants of Lot(J) as a possession.”
