19 “Let no one blithely think, when he hears the warnings of this curse, ‘I shall prosper even though I walk in my own stubborn way!’ 20 For the Lord will not pardon! His anger and jealousy will be hot against that man. And all the curses written in this book shall lie heavily upon him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven. 21 The Lord will separate that man from all the tribes of Israel, to pour out upon him all the curses (which are recorded in this book) that befall those who break this contract.

19 When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing(A) on themselves, thinking, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,”(B) they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry. 20 The Lord will never be willing to forgive(C) them; his wrath and zeal(D) will burn(E) against them. All the curses written in this book will fall on them, and the Lord will blot(F) out their names from under heaven. 21 The Lord will single them out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster,(G) according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.(H)
