Israel to Destroy Idolatrous Nations

7 “When the Lord your God brings you into the land^(A) you are entering to possess,^(B) and He drives out many nations before you—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and powerful than you—

⁵ But they settled among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

²⁰ As for all the peoples who remained of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not Israelites— ²¹ their descendants who remained in the land after them, those whom the Israelites were unable to completely destroy^(A)—Solomon imposed forced labor on them; it is this way until today.^(B)

⁴⁵ You are the daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and children. You are the sister of your sisters,^(A) who despised their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.^(B)
