(A)Thus we took the land at that time from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the [a]valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon (Sidonians (B)call Hermon (C)Sirion, and the Amorites call it (D)Senir): 10 all the cities of the plateau and all Gilead and (E)all Bashan, as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11 (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the (F)Rephaim. Behold, his [b]bedstead was an iron [c]bedstead; it is in (G)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon. Its length was [d]nine cubits, and its width four cubits [e]by ordinary cubit.)

12 “So we took possession of this land at that time. From (H)Aroer, which is by the [f]valley of Arnon, and half the hill country of (I)Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites. 13 And the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob. (Concerning all Bashan, it is called the land of Rephaim. 14 (J)Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and called [g]it—that is, Bashan—after his own name, [h]Havvoth-jair, as it is to this day.) 15 (K)And to Machir I gave Gilead. 16 And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even as far as the [i]valley of Arnon, the middle of the [j]valley [k]as a border and as far as the [l]river (L)Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; 17 the Arabah also, with the Jordan [m]as a border, from [n](M)Chinnereth (N)even as far as the sea of the Arabah, (O)the Salt Sea, [o]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah on the east.

The Kings of the East Struck Down

12 Now these are the (A)kings of the land whom the sons of Israel struck down, and whose land they possessed beyond the Jordan to the east toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah to the east: Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and ruled (B)from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; and the (C)Arabah as far as the Sea of [a]Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward [b]toward (D)Beth-jeshimoth, and on the south, [c]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah; and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of (E)the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived at (F)Ashtaroth and at Edrei and ruled over Mount Hermon and (G)Salecah and all Bashan, as far as (H)the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. Moses the servant of Yahweh and the sons of Israel struck them down; and (I)Moses the servant of Yahweh gave it to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh as a possession.
