⁶ Let no one deceive you^(A) with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath^(B) comes on those who are disobedient.^{(C) 7} Therefore do not be partners with them.

⁸ For you were once^(D) darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light^(E)

⁶ Because of these, the wrath of God^(A) is coming.^{[a] 7} You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.^{(B) 8} But now you must also rid yourselves^(C) of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,^(D) and filthy language from your lips.^(E)
