¹² In him we have boldness and confident access^(A) through faith in him.^[a]

¹⁶ In every situation take up the shield^(A) of faith^(B) with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.^(C)

²³ if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith^(A) and are not shifted away from the hope^(B) of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has been proclaimed in all creation^(C) under heaven,^(D) and I, Paul,^(E) have become a servant of it.

⁵ For I may be absent in body, but I am with you in spirit,^(A) rejoicing to see how well ordered you are and the strength of your faith in Christ.

⁸ But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled^(A) and put on the armor^(B) of faith and love, and a helmet^(C) of the hope of salvation.

¹³ For those who have served well as deacons acquire a good standing for themselves and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

¹² Fight the good fight^(A) of the faith. Take hold of eternal life^(B) to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

⁴ because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.
