15 The Jews who were in Susa then assembled on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they killed 300 men in Susa. But they did not confiscate their property.

16 The rest of the Jews who were throughout the provinces of the king assembled in order to stand up for themselves and to have rest from their enemies. They killed 75,000[a] of their adversaries, but they did not confiscate their property. 17 All this happened on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar. They then rested on the fourteenth day and made it a day for banqueting and happiness.

16 Meanwhile, the remainder of the Jews who were in the king’s provinces also assembled to protect themselves and get relief(B) from their enemies.(C) They killed seventy-five thousand of them(D) but did not lay their hands on the plunder.(E) 17 This happened on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, and on the fourteenth they rested and made it a day of feasting(F) and joy.
