23 For (A)the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will (B)not allow the (C)destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you. 24 And (D)you shall observe this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever. 25 When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has [a]promised, you shall observe this [b]rite.

23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike(A) down the Egyptians, he will see the blood(B) on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over(C) that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer(D) to enter your houses and strike you down.
24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance(E) for you and your descendants. 25 When you enter the land(F) that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony.
