Exodus 14:13-14
New International Version
Psalm 33:16-22
New International Version
16 No king is saved by the size of his army;(A)
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse(B) is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes(C) of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,(D)
19 to deliver them from death(E)
and keep them alive in famine.(F)
Psalm 44:4-8
New International Version
4 You are my King(A) and my God,(B)
who decrees[a] victories(C) for Jacob.
5 Through you we push back(D) our enemies;
through your name we trample(E) our foes.
6 I put no trust in my bow,(F)
my sword does not bring me victory;
7 but you give us victory(G) over our enemies,
you put our adversaries to shame.(H)
8 In God we make our boast(I) all day long,(J)
and we will praise your name forever.[b](K)
