12 So he [a]looked this way and that, and when he saw there was no one around, he (A)struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 He went out (B)the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were [b]fighting with each other; and he said to the [c]offender, “Why are you striking your companion?” 14 But he said, “(C)Who made you a [d]prince or a judge over us? Are you [e]intending to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known.”

12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”(A)

14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us?(B) Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.”
