²¹ In the tent of meeting outside the veil that is in front of the testimony,^(A) Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamp^(B) from evening until morning before the Lord. This is to be a permanent statute^(C) for the Israelites throughout their generations.

²⁸ Out of all the tribes of Israel, I selected your house^[a] to be priests, to offer sacrifices on My altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod in My presence.^(A) I also gave your house all the Israelite fire offerings.

Aaron, along with his descendants,^(B) was set apart forever to consecrate the most holy things, to burn incense in the presence of Yahweh,^(C) to minister to Him, and to pronounce blessings in His name forever.

⁹ it happened that he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense.^(A)
