Exodus 32:11-14
New American Standard Bible
Moses’ Plea
11 Then (A)Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Why should (B)the Egyptians talk, saying, ‘With evil motives He brought them out, to kill them on the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your burning anger and relent of doing harm to Your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You (C)swore by Yourself, and said to them, ‘I will (D)multiply your [a]descendants as the stars of the heavens, and (E)all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your [b]descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” 14 (F)So the Lord relented of the harm which He said He would do to His people.

Exodus 32:11-14
New International Version
11 But Moses sought the favor(A) of the Lord his God. “Lord,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?(B) 12 Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’?(C) Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster(D) on your people. 13 Remember(E) your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self:(F) ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars(G) in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land(H) I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’” 14 Then the Lord relented(I) and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.

If (B)Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him,
To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
