7 As I went back, I saw on the bank of the river (A)very many trees on the one side and on the other. 8 And he said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into (B)the Arabah, and enters the sea;[a] when the water flows into (C)the sea, the water will become fresh.[b] 9 And wherever the river goes,[c] every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea[d] may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes.

7 When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.(A) 8 He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah,[a](B) where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh.(C) 9 Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.(D)
