11 But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh. They will be left for salt. 12 All kinds of fruit trees will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not dry and die. The trees will have fruit every month because the water for them comes from the Temple. The fruit from the trees will be for food. And their leaves will be for medicine.”

Borders of the Land

13 This is what the Lord God says: “These are the borders to divide the land among the 12 tribes of Israel. Joseph will have two parts of land.

11 But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.(A) 12 Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river.(B) Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit(C) fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary(D) flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.(E)

The Boundaries of the Land

13 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “These are the boundaries(F) of the land that you will divide among the twelve tribes of Israel as their inheritance, with two portions for Joseph.(G)
