New International Version

¹⁸After Jacob came from Paddan Aram,^[a]^(A) he arrived safely at the city of Shechem^(B) in Canaan and camped within sight of the city.

¹⁸And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before the city.

⁵So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.^(A)

⁵Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
