¹⁷And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”

New International Version

¹⁷He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place!^(A) This is none other than the house of God;^(B) this is the gate of heaven.”

¹⁹He called the name of that place ^(A)Bethel,^[a] but the name of the city was Luz at the first.

¹⁹He called that place Bethel,^[a]^(A) though the city used to be called Luz.^(B)
