⁵¹ Joseph named the firstborn ^[a]Manasseh; “For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all of my father’s household.”

⁵² And he named the second ^[a]Ephraim; “For,” he said, “^(A)God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”

⁴ For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, ^(A)Manasseh and Ephraim, and they did not give a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to live in, with their pasture lands for their livestock and for their property.
