6 The Lord said, “Now, these people are ·united [L one], all speaking ·the same [L one] language. This is only the beginning of what they will do. ·They will be able to do anything they want [L Nothing they want to do will be impossible for them]. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language [L there] so they will not be able to understand each other.”
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they ·stopped [ceased] building the city.

6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language(A) they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us(B) go down(C) and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”(D)
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth,(E) and they stopped building the city.
