6 But the land was unable to support them as long as they stayed together, for they had so many possessions that they could not stay together,(A) 7 and there was quarreling between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock.(B) At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land.(C)
8 Then Abram said to Lot, “Please, let’s not have quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, since we are relatives.[a]

6 But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.(A) 7 And quarreling(B) arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites(C) and Perizzites(D) were also living in the land(E) at that time.
8 So Abram said to Lot,(F) “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me,(G) or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.(H)
