⁷ And quarreling^(A) arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites^(B) and Perizzites^(C) were also living in the land^(D) at that time.

⁸ So Abram said to Lot,^(E) “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me,^(F) or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.^(G)

²⁰ But the herders of Gerar quarreled^(A) with those of Isaac and said, “The water is ours!”^(B) So he named the well Esek,^[a] because they disputed with him.
