³⁸ Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me, me as well, my father.” So Esau raised his voice and ^(A)wept.

⁴ Now when the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people raised their voices and wept.

²³ And ^(A)the sons of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and ^(B)inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall we again advance for battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin?” And the Lord said, “Go up against him.”

²⁶ Then ^(A)all the sons of Israel and all the people went up and came to Bethel, and they wept and remained there before the Lord, and fasted that day until evening. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

^2 (A)So the people came to Bethel and sat there before God until evening, and raised their voices and wept ^[a]profusely.

⁴ Then David and the people who were with him ^(A)raised their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.
