²⁰ And be sure to say, ‘Your servant^(A) Jacob is coming behind us.’” For he thought, “I will pacify him with these gifts^(B) I am sending on ahead;^(C) later, when I see him, perhaps he will receive me.”^(D)

²⁵ They prepared their gifts^(A) for Joseph’s arrival at noon,^(B) because they had heard that they were to eat there.

²⁶ When Joseph came home,^(C) they presented to him the gifts^(D) they had brought into the house, and they bowed down before him to the ground.^(E)
