40 (A)You shall be [a]in charge of my house, and all my people shall [b]be obedient to you; only regarding the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “See, I have placed you (B)over all the land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh (C)took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen, and (D)put the gold necklace around his neck. 43 And he had him ride in [c]his second chariot; and they proclaimed ahead of him, “[d]Bow the knee!” And he placed him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Though I am Pharaoh, yet (E)without [e]your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”(D) 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring(E) from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes(F) of fine linen(G) and put a gold chain around his neck.(H) 43 He had him ride in a chariot(I) as his second-in-command,[a](J) and people shouted before him, “Make way[b]!”(K) Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.(L)

44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.”(M)
