Genesis 38:17-19

17 He said, therefore, “I will send you a [a]young goat from the flock.” She said, moreover, “Will you give a pledge until you send it?” 18 He said, “What pledge shall I give you?” And she said, “(A)Your seal and your cord, and your staff that is in your hand.” So he gave them to her and went in to her, and she conceived by him. 19 Then she arose and departed, and [b]removed her [c]veil and put on her widow’s garments.

New International Version
17 “I’ll send you a young goat(A) from my flock,” he said.
“Will you give me something as a pledge(B) until you send it?” she asked.
18 He said, “What pledge should I give you?”
“Your seal(C) and its cord, and the staff(D) in your hand,” she answered. So he gave them to her and slept with her, and she became pregnant by him.(E) 19 After she left, she took off her veil and put on her widow’s clothes(F) again.
