⁷ And it happened after these events ^(A)that his master’s wife ^[a]set her eyes on Joseph and said, “^(B)Lie with me.” ⁸ But ^(C)he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, with me here, my master ^[b]does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has given all that he owns into my hand. ^9 [c](D)There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil and ^(E)sin against God?” ¹⁰ So it happened that as she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to lie beside her or be with her.

^8 (A)you shall not be willing to accept him or listen to him; ^(B)and your eye shall not pity him; and you shall not spare him or conceal him.

^11 (A)And do not participate in the unfruitful ^(B)works of ^(C)darkness, but instead even ^[a](D)expose them.
